OUR STUDENTS
Since the start of The Music & Drama Institute, our students have appeared as soloists in numerous local concerts both within The MDI and in the local community's many public venues, including City Hall, The Cultural Center, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and in many churches. Our in-house concerts last year include violin, piano, and vocal concerts. Students have also had opportunity to join local performance organizations as chorus singers, actors, including The HK Arts Festival, The HK Opera Society, The HK Chorus, the CUHK chorus, and many others. OUR ARTIST-TEACHERS

Since the start of The Music & Drama Institute, our artist-teachers have appeared as soloists, accompanists, and ensemble players in numerous local concerts both within The MDI and in the local community's many public venues, including Government House, City Hall, The Cultural Center, and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, but also in more exclusive private venues, such as The Jockey Club, Repulse Bay Golf Club, and in private homes. These events have included numerous VIP-events, fundraisers, galas, national day celebrations, and memorial concerts, as well as private concerts. Many of our artist-teachers are active performers with the local performance organizations, notably The Hong Kong Philharmonic and The Hong Kong Sinfonietta, while others appear as free-lance musicians with The HK Arts Festival, The HK Opera Society, The City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Musical Theatre Federation, and also lend their support to such performing groups as The American Community Theatre, HK Singers, The Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival, etc. In addition, our artist-teachers are also well-know teachers within the local community, often serving other local institutions besides The Music & Drama Institute, including The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the English Schools Foundation, The German-Swiss School, and the Australian International School. They also serve as adjudicators at local and international competitions, auditions, and examinations.
ALUMNI
Naturally, it takes several years of dedicated teaching and learning before students and their teachers can witness major achievements, and The Music & Drama Institute is still a very young organization. However, several of our artist-teachers have between 10 to 25 years of teaching experience, and have been able to witness significant achievements by their students, including Performances as soloists in operas and concerts in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, London, Vienna, Graz, New York and Boston. Admission to major performing arts schools around the world, including Juillard School of Music, The University of Indiana at Bloomington, Peabody Conservatory of Music, The University of Performing Arts in Vienna and Graz, The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music, The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and The Royal Academy of Drama. Winning numerous scholarships and awards, including The Duchess of Kent International Scholarships, The Exxon Energy Ltd. Scholarships, The Guinness Flight Music Prizes, The Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir Scholarship, Lodge St. David Masonic Scholarship, The Lady Fung Music Grant of The Asian Cultural Council, The Clarins Scholarships, The SCMP Young Post Prize and more.
