MASTER CLASSES FOR SINGERS

AUDITIONS

Participants who wish to perform in the class must audition.
Those who are selected, will perform in the July 6th VOCAL MASTER CLASS with Dr. Stephen Ng

Time:	19:00 - 21:00
Location:	The MDI Recital Hall
Audition fee	HK$ 100
Master Class auditing	HK$ 200
Master Class performing	HK$ 500

REQUIREMENTS

For the audition:

Prepare 2 songs or arias in either English, French, German, or Italian.
The 2 pieces should be of contrasting style (for example dfferent in historical period, interpretation, or tempo).
Both pieces should be sung from memory with accompaniment.
The candidate may use his or her own accompanist.
An MDI staff accompanist will be provided (included in the audition fee).
Preparation with MDI staff accompanist before the audition is not included in the fee.
Preparation with MDI staff accompanist must be scheduled before the auditions begin (book early to ensure availability of accompanist).

For the master class:

1 song or aria in either English, French, German, or Italian.
A photocopy and a score must be provided by the candidate.
The selection must have been performed during the audition.
The performance should be from memory and with accompaniment.
The candidate may use his or her own accompanist.
An MDI staff accompanist will be provided (included in the participant's fee).
Preparation with MDI staff accompanist before the master class is not included in the fee.
Preparation with MDI staff accompanist must be scheduled before the master classes begin (book early to ensure availability of accompanist).

Regulations:

Punctuality: Candidates should arrive at least 30 minutes in advance of their scheduled time for the audition or performance. Latecomers or no-shows may have their appointment cancelled.
Cancellations: There are no refunds for cancellations made by the candidate for any reason.
Application Fee: is payable with submission of the application.
Participation Fee: is payable upon receipt of the acceptance letter.
Audit Fee (for non-participants): Space is available on a first come/first serve basis. Payment in advance is strongly recommended due to limited seating.
