To give the student of singing a thorough and systematic approach to preparing for a vocal solo performance, including rehearsals, interpretation, memorization techniques and other performance related issues.

Recital programs should demonstrate musical and technical ability of a high standard, variety of expression and styles, and overall musical learning as it pertains to the particular voice type.

This course will benefit all advanced students who are ready to expand their performance experience. Recital candidates should have at least one year of regular attendance at The MDI, taking lessons from one of the MDI's Artist-Teachers. Excellent musicianship skills are a prerequisite, and may be obtained through additional coursework at The MDI.

Upon recommendation by the student's Artist-Teacher.
