As a private performing arts school, we depend on the financial support from friends, supporters, both individuals and corporations to help us develop our position as a leading performing arts institution in the Asia Pacific region. We make every effort to maximize the benefits of these contributions for our school and our students. There are many ways in which your contribution can make a difference. As The MDI continues its successful development as an increasingly important contributor to education and the performing arts in Hong Kong, your valuable assistance can help us obtain our goals sooner.

Since the establishment of The MDI in year 2000, the schools facilities, resources, revenue, enrollment, performances, and educational activities have multiplied several times over. Future plans include a significant expansion in all of these areas, which will mean increases in investments, teaching and administrative staffing, size of facilities, and performance projects.

We consider it of utmost importance that your support is put to use in accordance with your specific intentions while also generating the greatest value for our school and our students For this we also welcome your suggestions.
Depending on the nature of your contribution, your support will be received by the Performing Arts Development Society (PADS) if it is a non-profit type of donation, or as an investment for profit by The Music & Drama Institute Ltd (MDI).

The Performing Arts Development Society (PADS) is a non-profit organization. The objectives for which the Society is established are: - To promote professionally and internationally accepted standards in the performing arts field in Hong Kong
- To serve as an umbrella organization for those performing arts organizations in music, dance, and drama that are committed to being ruled by such standards, including performing companies and educational organizations.
- To raise the standards of the Performing arts in HK through education, public awareness of issues related to the performing arts field, and quality control of performance and educational activities.
- To elevate the professional status of performing artists in society through attention to standards of quality, development, achievement, and contribution to the community as a whole.
- To assist performing artists and performing arts organizations in their development through merit scholarships for specialized education, performance opportunities, career development
- To be an independent organization formed on the same principles as the Music and Drama Institute Ltd.
- The Society may not be used to promote an agenda that conflicts with the principles of the MDI, such as artistic integrity, educational quality and value, and with internationally recognized professional management & business practices in the field of the performing arts.

Membership in PADS offers recognition opportunities for corporations as well as individual donors. If the donor wishes MDI Venues, musical instruments, or appropriate equipment to be named as a result of their contribution, this will be arranged for periods between 1 and 5 years depending the nature and size of the contribution.
