BIOGRAPHY

Joseph Kam, Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts, graduated from University of Michigan School of Music. His principal teachers were Yizhak Schotten and Wayne Course.

He received several award from University of Michigan, included Graduate Merit Award, Humanities Award, Rackham Block Fellowship and School of Music Tuition Grant. During his tenure in University of Michigan, he was appointed as the Graduate Student Instructor for teaching viola performance.

He was also appointed as a viola faculty member in the Interlochen Music Festival and performed in the faculty recitals and teaching master classes.

He was the viola principal of Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the violist of Flint Symphony Orchestra.

Joseph Kam has also participated in some music festivals and performed throughout Europe and Asia. He has performed with various world famous artists, some of whom include Gustav Meier, Michael Tilson Thomas, Charles Dutoit, Kurt Masur, Sergiu Comissiona, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Yo-Yo Ma.
